Nicocrown

  • AI: Nicosulfuron 40g/L
  • Description: Nicosulfuron is a selective herbicide commonly used in agriculture to control grassy and broadleaved weeds in corn (maize) and grain sorghum. Nicosulfuron is typically applied post-emergence either as a standalone product or in combination with other compatible herbicides for broader weed control spectrum. For effective weed control, application should be carried out between 2-4 leaf stage of weeds.
  • Dosage: 100ml-120ml per 15L knapsack
  • Re-entry period: 48 hours

Restrictions

  • Do not apply Nicocrown 40g/L on field treated with a soil insecticide based on an organophosphate.
  • Do not mix with liquid fertilizer
  • Do not apply on maize crops that are under stress, as this may lead to incidences of more persistent crop damage. Only apply products at recommended rates to healthy crops.
  • Avoid applying Nicocrown whilst other workers are working on the farm, to prevent chemical inhalation.
  • Care must be taken to avoid damage by spray drift into plants outside the target area.
  • Avoid overdosing Nicocrown during application to prevent crop damage.

Avoid applying more than once per cropping season to prevent weed resistance to the chemical.

  • Use a well functioning sprayer
  • Use clean water, free of debris (sieve appropriately)
  • Fix and use 2.4m diameter nozzle (Flood) for overhead applications and crops with inter-row spacing above 50cm. For other applications, choose the appropriate nozzle.
  • Double-rinse the knapsack sprayer and lance by pumping out clean water.
  • Half fill the tank with water. Measure the appropriate dosage into a small container to pre-mix before transferring into the knapsack.
  • For tank-mixed application with other active ingredient(s), add the appropriate dosage of the other product. Add sticker if rainfall is expected in less than 6 hours.
  • Fill the sprayer tank with water to 15L and mix the solution by pumping and spraying into the tank, while stirring.
  • Ensure there is no leakage before mounting the knapsack sprayer.
  • During spraying, pump out spray solution whilst maintaining normal pressure for a fine spray mist.
  • Direct spray mist to the target grass at 1.2m – 1.8m spray diameter, depending on wind direction, release pressure, and applicator’s speed.
  • Maintain normal walking speed whilst observing spray mist-weed contact to ensure required/adequate solution volume is delivered onto the target weed.
  • Avoid “swinging” of spray nozzle on target grass/spot, to ensure uniform dispensation of spray solution to target grass/spot for uniform result observation.
  • For trials, always rinse the sprayer tank before the next dosage.
