Atracrown
- AI: Atrazine 800g/kg
- Description: Selective pre-emergence and early post-emergence herbicide for the control of annual broadleaved weeds (2-4 leaf stage of weed) in maize, sorghum, sugarcane, millet, yam and cassava. It has residual and foliar activity and functions by inhibiting photosynthesis (photosystem II).
- Dosage: 70g-100g per 15L knapsack
- PHI: 30 days
- Do not smoke, eat or drink when using this product.
- Keep away from foods, drinks, feeds and children.
- Avoid inhaling fumes and spray mist.
- Wear protective clothing and rubber gloves when handling or applying.
- As with all chemicals, avoid contact with spray as much as you can.
- Avoid drift to other crops, especially those that can be affected by the chemical
- Wash hands and exposed skin before meals. Do not eat, drink or smoke during spraying.
- Keep unused product in original container and dispose empty container at a safe place according to local regulations.
- If product gets into contact with skin or eyes, wash exposed area with plenty of water.
- If product is swallowed, induce vomiting. Take the person to a doctor for medical treatment. Don’t forget to go along with this container to show to the doctor.
- Use a well functioning sprayer
- Use clean water, free of debris (sieve appropriately)
- Fix and use 2.4m diameter nozzle (Flood) for overhead applications and crops with inter-row spacing above 50cm. For other applications, choose the appropriate nozzle.
- Double-rinse the knapsack sprayer and lance by pumping out clean water.
- Half fill the tank with water. Measure the appropriate dosage into a small container to pre-mix before transferring into the knapsack.
- For tank-mixed application with other active ingredient(s), add the appropriate dosage of the other product. Add sticker if rainfall is expected in less than 6 hours.
- Fill the sprayer tank with water to 15L and mix the solution by pumping and spraying into the tank, while stirring.
- Ensure there is no leakage before mounting the knapsack sprayer.
- During spraying, pump out spray solution whilst maintaining normal pressure for a fine spray mist.
- Direct spray mist to the target grass at 1.2m – 1.8m spray diameter, depending on wind direction, release pressure, and applicator’s speed.
- Maintain normal walking speed whilst observing spray mist-weed contact to ensure required/adequate solution volume is delivered onto the target weed.
- Due to the sealing effect (pre-emergent weed control) of Atracrown, ensure spray-soil contact in addition to spray-weed contact.
- Avoid “swinging” of spray nozzle on target grass/spot, to ensure uniform dispensation of spray solution to target grass/spot for uniform result observation.
- For trials, always rinse the sprayer tank before the next dosage.
- For pre-emergent weed control in freshly planted cassava, application must be done before the cassava sprouts/germinates.
